
Emma Cavanaugh-Johnson
Clinical Trainee
Emma is a pre-licensed therapist who specializes in early childhood mental health. She received her Master of Arts in child development with an emphasis in infant and toddler mental health from the University of Minnesota. Emma is a certified Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up parent coach, and finds that attachment themes feature heavily in her work. In therapy Emma draws on theories from human development, neuroscience, and stress biology; as well as using concepts from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Developmental Repair, and play therapy. Emma loves to work with children all of ages, and especially enjoys working with families and parents.
Before becoming a therapist, Emma was a trained Montessori teacher working in early childhood classrooms for six years.
In her personal life, Emma enjoys poetry, nature, and spending time with her two dogs.
