Hi! My name is Deanna and I work part time as a therapist at New Prague Counseling. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato double majoring in Child Development & Family Studies and Applied Leadership. I graduated August 2023 with my Master of Social Work degree with a clinical concentration and specialization in working with children and families. I have formalized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Family Systems Trauma.

I have a variety of experience working in the field such as working with child protective services, group homes for adults with disabilities, mobile crisis services, residential treatment for adolescents and outpatient therapy. I enjoy working with a variety of clients to assist them in improving their mental health. I believe therapy is most beneficial when it’s a comfortable setting. I would consider myself friendly, empathetic, and curious.

In my free time I enjoy spending time at home with my dogs, traveling, playing my Nintendo Switch and binge watching tv shows.
